Laura Stephens provides personalized parent coaching services for parents with children from 2 years old to teens who live in the Iowa/Illinois Quad City Area and beyond.
Laura strives to meet the needs of her clients by providing services in the comfort of their home as well as virtual meetings through ZOOM. Zoom is an easy website to use for videoconferencing and creates the option for sessions to be recorded for future reference.
Although Laura is also a trained and experienced psychotherapist, all Parent Coaching services provided through Courageous Aim are not to be considered or defined as "therapy." As such, Courageous Aim bills through private payment only and is unable to accept insurance. If at any time Laura deems that psychotherapy services are necessary, she will make an appropriate referral to another qualified mental health professional. If your family is already engaged in on-going therapy, Laura is happy to work in collaboration with your mental health professional.

The Guide
This is an insight package meant for parents who are having some specific struggles. "The Guide" would provide a fresh, professional perspective to create a plan of action that parents can work with independently. This may be a starting point for a family that is willing to test the waters of Parent Coaching or for families who have studied where they are stuck and need guidance on how to move forward. "The Guide" includes a thorough intake session, written recommendation plan and follow up meeting.
The Hunter
This package is best suited for those parents not only looking for help with specific struggles, but require more support through the transformation process. Maybe it’s behavior issues that are driving you crazy, but you feel stuck in the loop of “nothing works.” Or possibly you feel off-track co-parenting with your partner and need help creating alignment and commitment to one, mutually agreed-upon, plan. There are many ways to utilize the continuity of "The Hunter" sessions to take control over the areas you feel are a struggle and work toward creating more relaxed relationships and harmony within your family. "The Hunter" includes an assessment component, 6 in-home/virtual sessions and additional support between meetings.
The Warrior
This package is for parents struggling with broad issues in parenting, such as communication and connection with their children, appropriate and effective management of children’s behaviors, variable parenting philosophies between parents, or whatever may be the large issue hindering your ability to feel confident and find joy in parenting. It may more accurately be referred to as the “I don’t even know where to start!” package. Families who choose "The Warrior" may recognize they are dealing with a variety of challenges to feeling confident in their parenting and its effectiveness and have decided to roll up their sleeves and partner with me to make large and lasting change through a more intense level of interventions. "The Warrior" includes a thorough in-home assessment session, in-home observation session, teaching and modeling of recommended strategies in the home or virtually, ten weekly virtual sessions and further supportive services along the way, including regular access to Laura for feedback and consultation to battle the hard stuff and stay on track.
The Wandering Warrior
Interested in the in-home services or packages, but do not live in the Quad Cities area? No problem! This warrior will travel! For families residing 30 miles or more outside the Quad Cities, packages and pricing will be adjusted to accommodate time and travel.
